Polygala grandiflora (Sweet Pea Shrub)

Polygala grandiflora, commonly called Sweet Pea Shrub, is a compact evergreen that flowers for many months in New Zealand gardens. Masses of purple and mauve blooms with crested centres appear from spring through autumn, attracting bees. Plants form a rounded bush about 1.2 metres tall and the same wide with delicate green foliage. Grow in full sun or light shade in well-drained soil. Ideal for borders, pots, and coastal sites, and tolerant of frost and wind.
