Polygala grandiflora

Commonly known as the Sweet Pea Shrub, this evergreen is grown for its fresh foliage and pretty flowers. The soft and oval leaves are a fresh green and provide a lovely backdrop to the purple, pea like flowers produced almost year round. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of moderate frost once established and should not be allowed to dry out. The Sweet Pea Shrub is commonly included in a mixed planting, used in borders, grown as an informal hedge, or planted as a cluster for a lovely display.
