Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Katie’ is grown for its gorgeous, variegated foliage. The dense foliage on this shrub is small, rounded and wavy, with the green leaves banded with cream-white. The foliage is carried on near black stems. It typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Best growth is achieved when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of most soil types except extreme wet and tends to be more open in shadier conditions. This wind hardy and coastal tolerant plant is ideal for shelter, screening, and hedging. Pittosporum ‘Katie’ makes an attractive feature plant and is often used as a backdrop to other plants.
