Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Irene Paterson’ is a variety of Pittosporum grown for its attractive foliage. The foliage emerges white and becomes covered with a white spotted variegation as it ages. It typically grows to 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of most soil types except extreme wet and tends to be more open in shadier conditions. Pittosporum ‘Irene Paterson’ is both wind hardy and coastal tolerant, and is ideal for hedging, adding to a mixed planting, planting around the pool or barbecue areas, or for revegetation plantings.
