Pittosporum ‘Emerald Lake’ is grown for its beautiful foliage. It features glossy, lime-green leaves which are held on solid, near black stems. It typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this shrub is achieved when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of most soil types except extreme wet and will grow in shaded conditions though it will become less dense. It is also tolerant of wind, coastal conditions, periods of dry hardy, and frost once established. Pittosporum ‘Emerald Lake’ is commonly included in coastal gardens, trimmed into a hedge, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, or planted for shelter or screening.
