Pimelea tomentosa Details

Pimelea tomentosa is an erect, NZ native shrub that grows to about 1 m tall and the same wide. It features grey-green leaves carried on slender branches that have white hairs. Small, white flowers are produced at the ends of branches throughout the year and result in black, fleshy fruits. Best performance with this shrub is achieved when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is a hardy plant that will tolerate both drought and wind. Pimelea tomentosa is commonly included in a mixed planting, added to a native planting, included in a border, or grown in a container. This plant is in decline and now considered an endangered species, so it is worth planting for this reason alone.
