Pieris White Caps is a decorative shrub grown for its foliage and flowers. This compact, rounded shrub carries chains of white, urn like flowers which are mildly fragrant. They are borne through winter and spring on pendent like clusters on graceful stems. The new foliage is bronze but matures to become leathery, glossy, and dark green. It typically grows to 1.2 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. Leaf colouring and flowering will be reduced as the levels of shade are increased and it is frost hardy once established. Pieris White Caps makes for a superb specimen in a small garden and is well suited to growing in a container, adding to mixed plantings, formal gardens, or for border planting.
