Pieris Valley Valentine is a decorative, evergreen shrub. This compact, rounded shrub carries chains of red flower buds that open into pink flowers. They are borne through winter and spring on pendent like clusters on graceful stems and are mildly fragrant. The new foliage is bronze but matures to become leathery, glossy, and dark green as it grows to 1.2 m tall and the same wide. Pieris Valley Valentine makes for a superb specimen in a small garden and is well suited to growing in a container, adding to mixed plantings, formal gardens, or for border planting.

Pieris Valley Valentine Details

Pieris Valley Valentine is a decorative, evergreen shrub. This compact, rounded shrub carries chains of red flower buds that open into pink flowers. They are borne through winter and spring on pendent like clusters on graceful stems and are mildly fragrant. The new foliage is bronze but matures to become leathery, glossy, and dark green. It typically grows to 1.2 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. Leaf colouring and flowering will be reduced as the levels of shade are increased and it is frost hardy once established. Pieris Valley Valentine makes for a superb specimen in a small garden and is well suited to growing in a container, adding to mixed plantings, formal gardens, or for border planting.
