Pieris Lord Wakehurst Details

Pieris Lord Wakehurst, commonly known as the Lily Of The Valley Bush, is an attractive shrub grown for both its foliage and flowers. This compact, rounded shrub produces pink tinged buds that open into white, urn shaped flowers. They are borne in pendent like clusters on graceful stems. The flowers are mildly fragrant and are produced from winter through spring. New foliage is brilliant red in colour and matures to become leathery, glossy, and dark green. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and 1.2 m wide, growing best on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. Leaf colouring and flowering will be reduced as the levels of shade are increased and it is frost hardy once established. Pieris Lord Wakehurst makes for a superb specimen in a small garden and is well suited to growing in a container, adding to mixed plantings, formal gardens, for border planting, or planting around the barbecue area.
