Phylica ericoides, commonly known as Heath Phylica or Ericoid Phylica, is a tough and decorative, small shrub. It carries fine, succulent-like, dark green foliage which becomes adorned with masses of small but showy white flower heads at the ends of the stems during autumn and winter. This bushy, compact, evergreen typically grows to 60 cm tall and the same wide. Phylica ericoides is commonly included in a mixed planting, planted in the drier areas of the garden, maintained in a container, or used in borders.

Phylica ericoides Details

Phylica ericoides, commonly known as Heath Phylica or Ericoid Phylica, is a tough and decorative, small shrub. It carries fine, succulent-like, dark green foliage which becomes adorned with masses of small but showy white flower heads at the ends of the stems during autumn and winter. The flowers have a honey scent and give rise to a small, purple-brown berries. This bushy, compact, evergreen typically grows to 60 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun. This hardy plant is tolerant of arid conditions, coastal environments, and moderate frosts. Phylica ericoides is commonly included in a mixed planting, planted in the drier areas of the garden, maintained in a container, or used in borders.
