Nandina domestica Pygmaea is a compact, evergreen shrub grown for its colourful foliage. The leaves in summer are green with orange highlights then turn red through autumn and winter. The foliage is complemented with small, white flowers in summer which are followed by bright red berries. It typically grows to 60 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, some wind, short periods of dry, and coastal environments.
