Nandina Lemon & Lime is a variety of the commonly known, Heavenly Bamboo, and is a compact, evergreen shrub grown for its colourful foliage. New foliage in spring is lemon-yellow and ages to become a lime-green colour. It typically grows to 80 cm tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, some wind, periods of dry, and coastal environments. Nandina Lemon & Lime is a tidy plant that is ideal for planting around outdoor living areas, such as pools including in a mixed planting, planting as a backdrop for smaller plants, maintaining in a container, growing as an informal hedge, or using anywhere a hardy and attractive shrub is desired.
