The dwarf Nandina Harbor Dwarf is a compact, evergreen shrub grown for its colourful foliage. New growth is flushed with red, ages to become bright green through summer, then turns red-bronze from autumn through winter. Small, white flowers are borne on the ends of stems in spring. It typically grows to 60 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, some wind, short periods of dry, and coastal conditions. The dwarf Nandina Harbor Dwarf is a tidy plant that is ideal for planting around outdoor living areas, such as pools including in a mixed planting, planting as a backdrop for smaller plants, maintaining in a container, growing as an informal hedge, or using anywhere a hardy and attractive shrub is desired.
