Myrsine divaricata (Weeping Mapou)

Myrsine divaricata, commonly known as Weeping Matipo, is a bushy shrub with an attractive weeping growth habit. Plants carry small and green, leathery leaves held sparsely on slender stems. The foliage is complemented with tiny, pale yellow-red flowers in summer as it grows to 3 m tall and 1 m wide. Myrsine divaricata is commonly grown as an unusual hedge, added to a mixed planting, or planted with native grasses along a walkway. It also suits being maintained in a container or planted around the pool or barbecue area as an architectural feature.
