Murraya koenigii, commonly known as the Curry Leaf Plant, is an attractive, medium-sized shrub grown for its foliage and flowers. It grows compactly and bears aromatic, glossy, dark green leaves. Large heads of sweetly scented, showy, white flowers appear during summer and are followed by small, red fruits in autumn. It typically grows to 4 m tall and 3 m wide and can be contained with trimming as necessary. Best performance with this plant is achieved when grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site, protected from frosts. Murraya koenigii is commonly included in a mixed planting, grown as a specimen, maintained in a container, included in a tropical garden, or planted so the fragrance of this plant can be enjoyed. The leaves can be snipped for cooking.
