Luculia gratissima is grown for its clusters of beautiful flowers. It becomes covered in beautiful, pink flowers during autumn and winter. These are carried above the mid-green foliage which develops red tones with age. It grows as a deciduous shrub to about 3 m tall and the same wide though in warmer climates it may remain evergreen. Best growth and flowering is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site and protected from heavy frosts. Luculia gratissima is commonly included in a mixed planting, planted for winter colour, or planted anywhere the fragrance and beauty this plant affords can be enjoyed.
