Lonicera nitida Details

Lonicera nitida, commonly known as the Boxleaf Honeysuckle, is a hardy shrub often used instead of Buxus as a hedge. It carries dense, upright branches which host small and glossy, dark green leaves. New growth has attractive, purple-black edges. This evergreen typically grows to 2 m tall and 1 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this Lonicera are achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, coastal conditions, and dry periods. Questions and Answers

Have a question about Lonicera nitida (Lonicera Hedge)? We are here to help.

Hi. Why is the 2.5 lt. container a 30cm height plant but the 1.5 and the 3.5 lt. is only 15cm. high? approximately how long would it take for the plants to reach around 1.5 mt.? Thanks so much

They are at different heights due to being recently trimmed to keep them bushy. I estimate 3 years to reach 1.5 m tall. This could be less if they are watered and fertilised regularly.
