Ligustrum undulatum, commonly known as the Box Leaf Privet, is a fast-growing, compact shrub grown for its form and foliage. It grows as rounded bush carrying small green leaves held densely. This evergreen typically grows to 1.2 m tall and responds well to trimming. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site, noting that it is tolerant of moderate frost, dry periods, and coastal conditions. Ligustrum undulatum is often clipped into a hedge, added to a mixed planting, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants. It is a non-invasive Privet and often used as a substitute for Buxus sempervirens.
