Leucadendron Starburst Details

Leucadendron Starburst is grown for its amazing, Protea like flowers. The flowers are made up of large, red coloured bracts with a cream centre, and are held almost year-round. This evergreen shrub grows with a tidy and erect habit to about 1.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site. Plants will tend to be more open when grown in partial shade and flowering may be compromised. It will tolerate dry periods, coastal environments, and cool climates though heavy frost areas should be avoided. Leucadendron Starburst is commonly included in a mixed planting, planted around the barbecue or pool area, maintained in a container, or planted to provide winter colour.
