Leucadendron Safari Sunset is grown for its amazing flowers. The flowers are red-dark pink and lighten to cream towards the centre. These are held year-round and are complemented with green foliage flushed with red. This evergreen shrub grows with a tidy, erect habit to about 2 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site. Plants will tend to be more open when grown in partial shade and flowering may be compromised. It will tolerate dry periods, coastal environments, and cool climates though heavy frost areas should be avoided. Leucadendron Sunset Safari is commonly included in a mixed planting, planted around the barbecue or pool area, maintained in a container, or planted to provide winter colour. This is a very showy plant and is often used in floral arrangements.
