Leucadendron Julie is grown for its amazing flowers. The flowers are made up of bracts that flushed red and cream, and are held year-round. The flowers are complemented with dark green foliage held off erect stems. It grows with a tidy and erect habit to about 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site. Plants will tend to be more open when grown in partial shade and flowering may be compromised. It will tolerate dry periods, coastal environments, and cool climates though heavy frost areas should be avoided. Leucadendron Julie is commonly included in a mixed planting, planted around the barbecue or pool area, used to complement other plant forms, maintained in a container, or planted to provide winter colour.
