Leucadendron 'Corringle Gold'

How to grow Leucadendron 'Corringle Gold' in NZ

Leucadendron 'Corringle Gold' grows best in full sun with free draining soil that is low in phosphorus and rich in natural organic matter. It performs particularly well in warm sheltered parts of New Zealand and dislikes heavy wet soils. Water regularly during establishment to encourage healthy root development and strong growth but avoid overwatering. Adding mulch around the base helps retain moderate soil moisture while keeping roots cool. Choose a planting site with excellent drainage and protection from severe frost for best foliage colour and plant health.

Leucadendron 'Corringle Gold' care tips

Leucadendron 'Corringle Gold' is a relatively low maintenance shrub once established but benefits from occasional watering during dry periods. Avoid high phosphorus fertilisers as protea family plants are sensitive to excess phosphorus. Light pruning after flowering helps maintain shape and encourages dense branching and fresh colourful growth. Remove any damaged or weak stems as needed to maintain healthy airflow and plant vigour. In colder regions of New Zealand, provide shelter from heavy frost while young plants establish.
