Leptospermum scoparium Wiri Kerry is a variety of the commonly known, Manuka, and features amazing flowering. It produces masses of double, dark pink flowers from late spring through into autumn. The flowers are complemented with the small, dark green foliage which often develops bronze tones during winter. This shrub grows quickly to about 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide though can be trimmed as necessary. It grows best when positioned in full sun on a well-drained site, and will tolerate, drought, heavy soils, some wind, coastal conditions and moderate frost. Leptospermum scoparium Wiri Kerry is commonly used as a backdrop for smaller plants, grown as a specimen, planted around outdoor living areas, trimmed into a hedge, or maintained in a container.
