Leptospermum Elizabeth Jane is a dwarf variety of the commonly known, Manuka, and like other selections it features amazing flowers and foliage. It produces a profusion of single, deep pink flowers with a dark centre through spring and summer. The foliage comprises small and aromatic, dark green leaves which are held on slender stems. This evergreen shrub typically grows to 1.5 m tall and 1 m wide, and can be contained with trimming. It grows best in full sun or partial shade across almost all soil conditions except extreme wet and dry. It is also tolerant of dry periods, frost, cool climates, wind, and coastal environments. Leptospermum nanum Elizabeth Jane makes a spectacular show when used as a backdrop for other smaller, foliage or flowering plants. It is also commonly used as a specimen, included in mixed plantings, trimmed into a hedge, or planted to attract birds and bees. This plant is well suited to the modern and urban garden.
