Lavender Queen Plant

The Lavender Queen plant is a compact shrub and carries masses of showy, two-tone pink flower spikes from spring through until autumn. The foliage is mid-green and complements the flowers nicely. Both the flowers and foliage produce a lovely aroma when cut. This evergreen shrub typically grows to 40 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun. It is a hardy plant that will tolerate dry conditions but does require protection from heavy frost. The Lavender Queen plant is commonly used in cottage gardens, included in mixed plantings and borders, trimmed into a hedge, or maintained in a container. A mass planting either as a groundcover or on a bank will give a dramatic display.
