“Super” is a variety of Lavender that grows as a compact shrub and carries masses of long, light blue flower spikes from spring through summer. The foliage is green with a touch of grey and complements the flowers nicely. Both the flowers and foliage produce a lovely aroma when cut or brushed against. This evergreen typically grows to 75 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun. It is a hardy plant that will tolerate dry conditions but does require protection from heavy frost, particularly when young. “Super” is commonly used in cottage gardens, included in mixed plantings and borders, trimmed into a hedge, or planted around outdoor living areas. It is also well suited to mass planting on a bank or using as a groundcover and in both instances will produce a stunning display. For hedging space plants 40 cm apart.
