“Pippa” is a lovely variety of Lavender owing to its flowers, foliage, and form. This shrub grows compactly, bearing masses of beautiful, purple-blue flower spikes from spring through summer. The fragrant foliage is a fresh green-grey colour and serves as a pleasant backdrop to the flowers. This evergreen typically grows to 40 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun. It is a hardy plant that will tolerate dry periods, moderate frost, and coastal environments but does require protection while it is establishing. “Pippa” is commonly used in cottage gardens, included in borders and mixed plantings, planted around outdoor living areas, or maintained in a container. A mass planting on a bank or the like gives a rewarding show with this variety.
