Lavender 'Margaret Roberts'

How to grow Lavender 'Margaret Roberts' in NZ

Lavender 'Margaret Roberts' grows best in full sun and free draining soil to ensure strong flowering and vigorous growth. Select a warm, open site that receives at least six hours of direct light daily. Avoid heavy or waterlogged soils, as lavender prefers dry, airy conditions. Water regularly while establishing, then reduce watering to occasional deep soakings. It performs reliably across both coastal and inland regions in New Zealand.

Lavender 'Margaret Roberts' care tips

Caring for Lavender 'Margaret Roberts' is straightforward and low maintenance. Trim lightly after flowering to maintain an upright shape and encourage fresh new growth. Avoid cutting back into old wood, as lavender reshoots best from younger stems. Once established, water sparingly and avoid excessive fertiliser, which can cause soft growth. A light dressing of slow release fertiliser in spring supports strong blooming.
