“Grace Leigh” is a variety of Lavender that grows as a compact shrub and carries masses of relatively long, soft-blue-pink flower spikes through spring and summer. The foliage is mid-green, and complements the flowers nicely. Both the flowers and foliage produce a lovely aroma when cut or brushed against. This evergreen typically grows to 20 cm tall and 40 cm wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun. It is a hardy plant that will tolerate dry conditions but does require protection from heavy frost when young. “Grace Leigh” is commonly used in cottage gardens, included in mixed plantings and borders, or maintained in a container. A mass planting either as a groundcover or on a bank will give a dramatic display.
