Lavender 'Foveaux Storm'

How to grow Lavender 'Foveaux Storm' in NZ

Lavender 'Foveaux Storm' thrives in full sun and free draining soil to produce strong, long lasting blooms. Choose a warm, open position that receives at least six hours of direct sunlight daily. Avoid waterlogged or heavy soils, as lavender prefers drier conditions. Water regularly while the plant establishes, then decrease watering to occasional deep soakings during dry spells. It performs well in both coastal and inland gardens across New Zealand.

Lavender 'Foveaux Storm' care tips

Caring for Lavender 'Foveaux Storm' is simple and low maintenance. Trim lightly after flowering to maintain a compact, tidy shape and encourage fresh new shoots. Avoid cutting back into old wood, as lavender reshoots best from younger stems. Once established, water sparingly and avoid heavy fertilising, which can produce soft growth. A small application of slow release fertiliser in spring supports strong flowering.
