Lavender 'Bella Rose'

How to grow Lavender 'Bella Rose' in NZ

Lavender 'Bella Rose' grows best in full sun and free draining soil to support strong flowering and healthy growth. Choose a warm, sunny position that receives at least six hours of direct light daily. Avoid heavy or waterlogged soils, as lavender prefers drier conditions. Water regularly while the plant establishes, then gradually reduce watering to occasional deep soakings. This variety performs reliably in both coastal and inland gardens across New Zealand.

Lavender 'Bella Rose' care tips

Caring for Lavender 'Bella Rose' is simple and rewarding. Trim lightly after flowering to maintain a tidy shape and encourage fresh new shoots. Avoid cutting into old wood, as lavender reshoots best from younger stems. Once established, water sparingly, especially during cooler months. Apply a light dressing of slow release fertiliser in spring to support flowering without causing overly soft growth.

Lavender 'Bella Rose' size, spacing, and growth rate

Lavender 'Bella Rose' typically grows forty to sixty centimetres tall and forms a similar width. Its compact mound forming habit makes it ideal for edging, borders, and decorative pots. Space plants forty to fifty centimetres apart to create a balanced and uniform display. Growth is moderate, forming a dense, fragrant plant that flowers reliably each year with minimal care.
