Lavatera Barnsley, commonly known as Tree Mallow, is a deciduous shrub grown for its beautiful flowers. It bears masses of large and showy, pink flowers through summer and autumn. The mid-green foliage has a fresh appeal to it and serves as a lovely backdrop to the flowers. It can be cut back hard every winter and will regrow to about 1.5 m tall and the same wide. Lavatera Barnsley is commonly included in mixed plantings and borders, maintained in a container, added to cottage gardens, or used where colour is desired quickly.
