Lantana montevidensis Purple, commonly known as Creeping Lantana, is a shrub grown for its pretty flowers through summer. The showy clusters are purple-dark pink, and are great for attracting butterflies. They are held above the lush, dark green foliage which serves as a lovely backdrop. It typically grows to 50 cm tall and 1 m wide, growing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. Once established it will tolerate dry periods and light frost. Lantana montevidensis Purple is ideal for container growing, using in borders, planting around living areas, mass planting as a groundcover, or adding to a tropical garden. It does have a cascading nature and looks amazing when planted so it can trail over walls, walkways, or steps.
