Kalmia Minuet
“Minuet” is a variety of the commonly known, Mountain Laurel, and is grown for its spectacular flowering. Through summer it produces masses of showy, single, white flowers with a maroon band. These are produced in clusters above the glossy, mid-green foliage and the combination is very aesthetic. It grows as a rounded shrub to about 1 m tall and the same wide, preferring a full sun or partial shade position on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of moderate frost once established. “Minuet” is commonly included in a mixed planting, included in cottage gardens, maintained in a container, used in pool gardens, or planted anywhere the spectacular flowers can be appreciated. NB: all parts of this plant are poisonous.
