It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers a warm, sheltered location, such as against a north-facing wall or fence in New Zealand. This jasmine requires well-draining, fertile soil and benefits from regular watering, especially during dry spells, while avoiding waterlogged conditions. Support is essential, as it climbs by twining, so provide a trellis, pergola, or other structure. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage new growth. Feeding with a balanced fertiliser in spring and summer promotes lush foliage and flowering. It is sensitive to frost and young plants will require protection.
