Illicium majus, commonly known as the Star Anise Tree, is a lush, evergreen shrub grown for its foliage and flowers. The large and showy, fragrant flowers in summer open pink and age to white. These are complemented by lush, deep green, glossy leaves as it grows to 2 m tall and the same wide. Illicium majus is commonly included in mixed plantings, used in tropical gardens, maintained in a container, or planted anywhere the aesthetics and fragrance this plant affords can be enjoyed.
