Ilex Madame Briot

Ilex Madame Briot is a variety of Holly grown for it foliage and berries. This densely foliaged, evergreen shrub carries spiny, glossy green leaves with a yellow margin. Small, white, mildly fragrant flowers are produced in spring and result in distinctive, large red berries which attract birds. It typically grows to 5 m tall and the same wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Best growth is achieved when it is planted on a well-drained site in either full sun or partial shade. It is tolerant of dry conditions, cold environments, frost, and coastal conditions.
