Hydrangea ‘White Wave’ is a lacecap variety of Hydrangea grown for its pretty flowers and variegated foliage. The light pink flower heads are made up of open flowers which surround unopened florets. These are borne from summer through autumn and sit nicely with the foliage which is variegated dark green and white. It grows as a multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub with a rounded form to about 1 m tall and the same wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is hardy to cool climates, frost, and short periods of dry. Hydrangea ‘White Wave’ is a great variety for adding to a mixed planting, maintaining in a container, including in a cottage garden, or planting around an outdoor living area.
