‘Reiko’ is an outstanding Hydrangea variety due to its gorgeous flower heads. Each head comprises an outer ring of open, blush pink flowers which surround pale pink florets in the centre. These are borne from summer through autumn and sit perfectly above the dark green foliage. It grows as a multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub with a rounded form to about 1.2 m tall and the same wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Best growth is achieved in a full sun or partial shade position on a well-drained, sheltered site with a slightly acidic soil. This Hydrangea is hardy to cool climates, frost, and short periods of dry. ‘Reiko’ is a great variety for adding to a mixed planting, maintaining in a container, including in a cottage garden, or for planting around an outdoor living area.
