Hydrangea ‘Grandad’ produces stunning flowers! Large balls of pure white flowers in tight clusters are produced from summer through autumn. These are complemented with dark green leaves that contrast perfectly with the flowers. It grows as a multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub to about 1 m tall and the same wide. It can be trimmed as necessary and grows best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site with a slightly acidic soil. This variety is hardy to cool climates, frost, and short periods of dry. ‘Grandad’ is a great variety for including in a mixed planting, planting around the base of larger trees, adding to cottage and “white” gardens, maintaining in a container, growing as an informal hedge, or planting around outdoor living areas.
