The Ruby Tuesday Hibiscus is grown for its large and showy flowers. These are an impressive shade of pink with a purple centre and provide an outstanding display. They appear through summer and autumn on upright, slender branches which also hosts glossy green leaves. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry as well as moderate frost once established. In cool climates it may become deciduous or partially deciduous during winter. The Ruby Tuesday Hibiscus is commonly grown as a showy specimen, used as an informal hedge, planted for screening, included in a mixed planting, added to a tropical garden, or planted around outdoor living areas.
