Commonly known as Puarangi, this NZ native variety of Hibiscus grown for its pretty flowers. The cream-white flowers are produced through late autumn off slender branches which also host small, green leaves. It typically grows to 80 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry, coastal environments, and moderate frost once established. Puarangi is commonly included in a mixed planting but is also well suited to coastal and cottage gardens.
