Hibiscus syriacus Heidi

Hibiscus syriacus Heidi is grown for its large and showy, double flowers. The stunning, violet-coloured blooms are borne constantly through summer and autumn off upright, slender stems. The stems also host glossy, mid-green leaves which complement the flowers beautifully. This Rose Of Sharon variety typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry as well as moderate frost. In cool climates it may become deciduous or partially deciduous during winter. Hibiscus syriacus Heidi is commonly grown as a showy specimen, used as an informal hedge, planted for screening, included in a mixed planting, added to a tropical garden, or planted around outdoor living areas.
