Hibiscus hamabo is commonly grown as a showy specimen, planted for screening, included in a mixed planting, added to a tropical garden, or planted around outdoor living areas.

Hibiscus hamabo Details

Hibiscus hamabo is grown for its showy and unusual flowers which are butter-yellow in colour. They are borne through summer and autumn off upright, slender stems that also host dark green leaves. It typically grows to 3 m tall and the same wide but can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry, coastal environments, but should be protected from frost. Hibiscus hamabo is commonly grown as a showy specimen, planted for screening, included in a mixed planting, added to a tropical garden, or planted around outdoor living areas.
