Hibiscus 'Gem' (Chinese Hibiscus) Details

“Gem” is a variety of Hibiscus grown for its showy flowers. The single, bright orange flowers have a papery appearance and are produced through summer and autumn off upright, slender branches which also hosts glossy green leaves. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of moderate frost. “Gem” is commonly used as a showy specimen, for hedging or screening, in mixed plantings, grown in a container, added to a tropical garden, or planted around the barbecue area.
