The Crown of Warringah Hibiscus is grown for its showy flowers. The double flowers are bright orange and produced from through summer and autumn on upright, slender branches. The flowers are complemented with glossy green leaves. This shrub typically grows to about 2 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry as well as moderate frost once established. In cool climates it may become deciduous or partially deciduous during winter. The Crown of Warringah Hibiscus is commonly grown as a showy specimen, used as an informal hedge, planted for screening, included in a mixed planting, added to a tropical garden, or planted around outdoor living areas.
