Hibiscus syriacus ‘Collie Mullens’ is an outstanding Rose of Sharon variety and is grown for its large, rose-pink, semi-double flowers. They are held on upright, slender branches through summer and autumn. The foliage comprises bright green leaves held on a plant that typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide. This variety performs best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry as well as moderate frost. In cool climates it may become deciduous or partially deciduous during winter. Hibiscus ‘Cllie Mullens’ is commonly grown as a showy specimen, used as an informal hedge, planted for screening, included in a mixed planting, added to a tropical garden, or planted around outdoor living areas.
