“Blueberry Hill” is a variety of Hibiscus grown for its showy, single flowers. The flowers are a light blue with a cherry red centre, and a “papery” appearance. They are produced through summer and autumn and are held on upright, slender branches. The foliage comprises glossy green leaves. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of moderate frost. “Blueberry Hill” is commonly used as a showy specimen, for hedging or screening, in mixed plantings, grown in a container, added to a tropical garden, or planted around the barbecue area.
