“Apricot Single” is a variety of Hibiscus grown for its showy, single flowers. The flowers are apricot orange, have a “papery” appearance, and are produced through summer and autumn off upright, slender branches which also host glossy, green leaves. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry as well as moderate frost once established. In cool climates it may become deciduous or partially deciduous during winter. “Apricot Single” is commonly grown as a showy specimen, used as an informal hedge, planted for screening, included in a mixed planting, added to a tropical garden, or planted around outdoor living areas.
