Hebe Winter Gold

Hebe Winter Gold features lovely form and foliage. The leaves on this NZ native predominantly yellow but darker green towards the centre of the plant which results in the plant often having dual colouring. The leaves are densely packed on short, slender stems and complemented through spring with sprays of small, white flowers as it grows to about 60 cm tall and 1 m wide. Hebe Winter Gold is commonly added to a mixed planting, used in borders, planted around outdoor living areas, used in cottage gardens, or mass planted either on a bank or as a groundcover.

The most important part of caring for Hebe Winter Gold is to make sure they have a well-drained soil that does not become waterlogged at any time. This, along with over-watering, are the main causes of plants to fail to perform or die. The plants can be lightly trimmed any time but this is best undertaken in summer. The final elements are to feed the plants in spring with a general fertiliser and keep an eye on watering so they do not dry out.
